RAN 4481/3 ABSTRACT The invention provides an immunogenic polypeptide having the amino acid sequence Image and fragments thereof, which polypeptides are capable of inducing an immune response against Eimeria parasites, and the DNA encoding such polypeptides, as well as recombinant vectors and recombinant viruses containing the said DNA or fragments thereof and transformed microorganisms containing such vectors and viruses and coccidiosis vaccines comprising such polypeptides. The present invention relates also to methods for producing the said polypeptides and the transformed microorganisms. The present case also relates to methods for protecting a subject against coccidiosis using the said polypeptides. The polypeptides of the invention can be administered for such protection either as purified polypeptides or in the form of DNA encoding the polypeptide in a suitable viral vector such as vaccinia virus.
