An electromagnetic-field-responsive (preferably optical), code-based, graphic data-acquisition system for tracking the operational status of a mobile write-effective component (stylus, eraser, etc.) in relation to a defined writing-surface area. The preferred embodiment features an active optical structure which is disposed adjacent the writing-surface area for creating, by scanning, a defined zone of optical radiation, optically reactive, retroreflective code structure which is joined to the mobile component and which is capable of reacting (reflecting the same) to radiation within the zone when the code structure intersects the zone, a reaction monitoring structure for monitoring the reaction behavior of the code structure and for producing a related response, and interpretation structure which acquires that response and determines therefrom the desired operational-status-tracking information. Modification to this preferred structure are also illustrated and discussed.
L'invention est un système de saisie de données graphique sensible aux champs électromagnétiques (de préférence un système optique) à base de codes utilisé pour surveiller la situation d'un élément d'écriture mobile (stylet, tête d'effacement, etc.) par rapport à une surface d'écriture. La concrétisation privilégiée de l'invention comporte une structure optique active placée à côté de la surface d'écriture et utilisée pour créer, par balayage, une zone de rayonnement lumineux, une structure de codage rétroréfléchissante et optiquement réactive jointe à l'élément mobile qui peut réagir (par réflexion) au rayonnement dans ladite zone lorsque la structure de codage se trouve dans cette zone, une structure de surveillance de réaction servant à surveiller la réaction de la structure de codage et pour produire un signal de réponse connexe, et une structure d'interprétation qui saisit ce signal de réponse et en extrait l'information désirée sur la situation de fonctionnement. Une modification de cette structure privilégiée est également illustrée et discutée.
