The invention concerns a data coding method on any type of support (object, document, plant, animal, any material or materialised surface referred to as support below) which consists in affixing on a surface a marking consisting of a plurality of elementary signs pertaining to at least two different types, said marking being broken down into a plurality of coding zones each corresponding to coded information of a different type. The invention is characterised in that the marking comprises at least one configuration (C¿P?) zone (2) whereof the content is variable and specific to the type of applications, said configuration zone content determining one characteristic of at least one of the other variable coding zones (9), comprising the message body, specific to a category of applications.

La présente invention concernant un procédé de codage d'informations sur tout type de support (objet, document, plante, animal, toute surface matérielle ou matérialisée que l'on désignera par support) consistant à apposer sur une surface un marquage constitué par une pluralité de signes élémentaires appartenant à au moins deux types différents, ledit marquage se décomposant en une pluralité de zones de codage correspondant chacune à une information codée de nature différente, caractérisé en ce que le marquage comporte au moins une zone (2) de configuration CP dont le contenu est variable et spécifique au type d'applications, le contenu de ladite zone de configuration déterminant une caractéristique au moins de l'une au moins des autres zones (9) de codage variables, comportant le corps du message, spécifiques à une catégorie d'applications.
