15997 ABSTRACT A tough, heat shrunk, wrinkle-free coextruded multilayer sheet sleeve label for containers, the sleeve especially adapted for solvent sealing although it can be sealed by ultrasonic, hot air and heat sealing, the sheet being a tough skin layer/brittle polystyrene foam layer structure, the skin layer comprising a polyolefin, a block copolymer of butadiene and styrene as a compatibility agent, and polystyrene, the compatibility agent providing limited adhesion to preserve the toughness of the skin layer for the total label structure, and the polyolefin providing the skin layer with the desired shrinkage rate and limited shrinkage when the label is heat shrunk.
