ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification describes a roaster for roasting seeds, nuts, coffee beans or the like. The roaster is provided with a tray or support adapted to hold a layer of the product to be roasted. The tray has perforations in the bottom thereof, the diameter, numbers and spacing being such as to prevent components of the layer from falling through while permitting a current of hot air coming from beneath to pass uniformily through the layer. The specification also describes a method of roasting seeds, nuts, coffee beans or the like.
