Abstract A cohesive sealant article made from a material comprising a blend of a minor proportion of a cross-linked polymeric matrix and a major propor- tion of a second material, the article remaining coherent at a transition temperature of the polymer of the matrix and the second material exhibiting second degree cohesive blocking at a temperature not greater than the transition temperature. The article is suitable for use, for instance in protecting substrates such as wires, cables and pipes against corrosion, moisture and corona discharge. A process for preparing the article is also described.
