The present invention relates to coiled electrode assemblies having conductive tabs, methods of attaching the conductive tabs to the coiled electrode, and electrochemical cells employing such assemblies. In the process of the invention, the conductive tab area of an electrode plate (1) coated with active material is pierced with opposing, offset piercing plates (2) having raised surface probes (3) which penetrate the conductive tab area. The resulting area is cleared of active material, and a conductive tab is welded to the thus treated area resulting in an electrode plate having a strong integrated tab assembly.

La présente invention concerne des ensembles électrodes spiralées présentant des pattes conductrices, des procédés de fixation de ces pattes sur l'électrode spiralée, ainsi que des piles électrochimiques mettant en oeuvre de tels ensembles. Dans le procédé de l'invention, on a percé une zone de la patte conductrice d'une plaque-électrode (1) recouverte d'un matériau actif, à l'aide de plaques de percement (2) opposées, décalées et présentant des sondes de surface (3) saillantes qui pénètrent dans la zone de la patte conductrice. La zone résultante est alors dépourvue de matériau actif et une patte conductrice est soudée sur cette zone ainsi traitée, afin de donner une plaque-électrode possédant un ensemble patte résistant.
