A coin sorter for sorting mixed coins by denomination includes a rotatable disc (13), a drive motor (14) rotating the disc, and a stationary sorting head (12) having a lower surface generally parallel to the up- per surface of the rotatable disc and spaced slightly therefrom. The lower surface of the sorting head forms a plurality of exit channels (40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45) for guid- ing coins of different denominations to dif- ferent exit locations around the periphery of the disc Shunting mechanisms (1050) are disposed in one or more of the exit channels or are disposed outside the pe- riphery of the disc adjacent one or more of the exit locations. These shunting mech- anism are used to separate coins into two or more batches for the purpose of either discriminating between valid coins and in- valid coins or for the purpose of accumu- lating a predetermined number of coins in one batch and then accumulating additional coins in another batch.
Trieuse de pièces de monnaie destinée à trier des pièces selon leur valeur, et comportant un disque rotatif (13), un moteur d'entraînement (14) faisant tourner le disque, et une tête de triage fixe (12) ayant une surface inférieure généralement parallèle à la surface supérieure du disque rotatif et légèrement espacée de ladite surface. Lesdits mécanismes séparateurs sont utilisés pour séparer les pièces en au moins deux lots afin de distinguer les pièces valables des pièces non valables, ou afin d'accumuler un nombre prédéterminé de pièces dans un lot et d'accumuler ensuite un nombre supplémentaire de pièces dans un autre lot.
