A self-service change redemption machine (10) has a coin hopper area (41) for receiving batches of mixed coinage and a powered mechanism (43) for transporting them to an intake opening (44) into the machine (10) for sorting, counting and directing coins into a plurality of coin receptacles. The transport mechanism has a pivotable cover (46, 46a) for preventing access to a portion of the feed path leading into the machine (10) and, if the cover (46, 46a) is lifted, the powered mechanism (43) will be stopped. The mechanism (43, 46) is designed to prevent jamming of the coins in the hopper area (41) or along the feed path (45).

L'invention concerne une machine (10) de remboursement d'espèces en libre-service comportant une zone entonnoir (41) à pièces de monnaie destinée à recevoir des lots de pièces de monnaie mélangées, et un mécanisme (43) électrique qui transporte celles-ci vers une ouverture (44) d'entrée de la machine (10), où les pièces sont triées, comptées et dirigées dans une pluralité de récipients à pièces de monnaie. Le mécanisme de transport comporte un couvercle (46, 46a) pivotant qui empêche d'accéder à une partie du chemin de chargement menant à l'intérieur de la machine (10); si le couvercle (46, 46a) est soulevé, le mécanisme (43) électrique s'arrête. Ledit mécanisme (43, 46) est conçu afin d'éviter que les pièces de monnaie se coincent dans la zone entonnoir (41) ou sur le chemin de chargement (45).
