A coin-operated dispenser has an access door on the front side of a housing provided with a flange projecting forwardly past the access door, around and adjacent the access door, for counteracting levering of the access door from the housing. The access door carries a forwardly extending coin chute, and a security cover extends protectively over the access door within the flange and is retained by a removable retainer member and a lock. The security cover has a tray-shaped projection underlying the coin chute, with side walls receiving the coin chute therebetween and an end wall adjacent a forward end of the coin chute, the tray-shaped projection serving to counteract ripping of the coin chute from the access door.
