A coin processing apparatus comprises a plurality of coin tubes for accumulating coins inserted through a coin slot, by types of denominations. A plurality of overflow sensors are respectively disposed in the plurality of coin tubes, each adapted to detect an amount of coins held in a corresponding one of said plurality of coin tubes and generate an overflow output when the amount of coins held therein reaches a predetermined number. Coin distributing means including a plurality of coin distributing sections are respectively disposed in correspondence with the plurality of coin tubes. Each is adapted to selectively execute a first distributing operation for introducing a coin passing therethrough to a corresponding coin tube and a second distributing operation for introducing the same to an ensuing coin tube. A cash box is disposed in correspondence with a final stage of the plurality of coin tubes. Prohibition setting means which, if an overflow output is generated among the plurality of overflow sensors, is adapted to set in a prohibited state the first distributing operation of the coin distributing sections corresponding to all the coin tubes in stages following the coin tube corresponding to the overflow sensor from which the overflow output is being generated. Control means are provided for cancelling the prohibited state of the first distributing operation of the coin distributing sections as the coin to be distributed passes through the coin distributing sections.
Appareil de traitement de pièces de monnaie comprenant plusieurs cylindres à monnaie pour trier selon leur valeur nominale les pièces insérées dans une fente . Plusieurs détecteurs de dépassement de capacité sont placés respectivement dans les divers cylindres à monnaie, chacun étant capable de reconnaître le nombre de pièces contenues dans un cylindre correspondant et d'émettre un signal de dépassement de capacité si le nombre de pièces atteint un nombre préétabli. Des dispositifs de répartition des pièces de monnaie comprenant plusieurs sections de répartition des pièces sont placés respectivement en correspondance avec les divers cylindres à monnaie. Chacun des dispositifs est capable d'exécuter sélectivement une première opération de répartition pour diriger une pièce de monnaie vers un cylindre à monnaie correspondant et une deuxième opération de répartition pour diriger la même pièce vers le cylindre à monnaie suivant. Un coffret-caisse est placé en correspondance avec la dernière partie de la pluralité des cylindres à monnaie. Des dispositifs d'interdiction, si un signal de dépassement de capacité est généré parmi les nombreux détecteurs, sont prévus pour interdire la première opération de répartition dans les sections de répartition des pièces correspondant à tous les cylindres à monnaie juste après le cylindre à monnaie correspondant au détecteur d'où provient le signal de dépassement de capacité. Des dispositifs de contrôle permettent d'annuler l'interdiction au niveau de la première opération de répartition dans les sections de répartition des pièces au moment où la pièce en cours de traitement traverse les sections de répartition.
