The present invention provides a method and apparatus that can rapidly and accurately sort genuine from counterfeit coins without using a special high-performance CPU. The invention relates to a method of sorting genuine and counterfeit coins that are passing through a predetermined pathway, wherein a plurality of type-identifying means 14 and 15 is arranged along the predetermined pathway along which a plurality of types of coins M to be sorted are passing. This method of sorting genuine and counterfeit coins comprises the steps of: setting a plurality of mutually non-overlapping assumed domains 1 to 4, one for each of identification factors of the type-identifying means and corresponding to magnitudes of values thereof; determining whether an output from any of the type-identifying means belongs in any of the plurality of assumed domains; and sorting whether or not outputs from the identification means belong within a closed function domain in coordinates of a plurality of dimensions with axes along which the identification factors are plotted, in order to sort in accordance with each of identification factors of the plurality of types. The invention also relates to an apparatus for sorting genuine and counterfeit coins that are passing through a predetermined pathway, wherein a plurality of type-identifying means 14 and 15 is arranged along the predetermined pathway along which a plurality of types of coins M to be sorted are passing. This apparatus for sorting genuine and counterfeit coins comprises: an assumed region setting means for setting a plurality of mutually non-overlapping assumed domains, one for each of identification contents of the type-identifying means and corresponding to magnitudes of values thereof; a sorting means for determining whether an output from any of the type-identifying means belongs in any of the plurality of assumed domains; a function domain setting means for setting a closed function domain in coordinates of a plurality of dimensions with axes along which the identification factors are plotted, in order to sort in accordance with each of identification factors of the plurality of types; and a sorting means for sorting whether or not outputs from the identification means belong within the closed function domains; wherein genuine and counterfeit coins are sorted by an output from the sorting means.
Cette invention concerne une méthode et un appareil permettant de trier avec rapidité et précision les pièces de monnaie fausses et de bon aloi sans avoir recours à une unité centrale de traitement haute performance. Cette méthode assure le tri des pièces de monnaie fausses et de bon aloi qui suivent un parcours prédéterminé, le long duquel sont disposés un certain nombre de dispositifs d'identification 14 et 15. Les pièces M à trier suivent ce parcours. Cette méthode de tri de pièces fausses et de bon aloi comporte les étapes suivantes : mettre en place un certain nombre de domaines 1 à 4 ne se chevauchant pas, un pour chacun des facteurs d'identification des dispositifs d'identification et correspondant à l'importance de leur valeur; déterminer si un résultat obtenu au moyen de l'un des dispositifs d'identification correspond à l'un des domaines devant correspondre; et faire le tri entre les résultats obtenus au moyen des dispositifs d'identification en déterminant s'ils appartiennent à un domaine de fonction fermé déterminé d'après un système de coordonnées en plusieurs dimensions représenté par des axes le long desquels les facteurs d'identification sont inscrits, afin de procéder à un tri en tenant compte de chacun des facteurs d'identification pour l'ensemble des types à identifier. Cette invention concerne également un appareil conçu pour trier les pièces fausses et de bon aloi parcourant un trajet prédéterminé, sur lequel sont disposés un certain nombre de dispositifs d'identification 14 et 15. Une série de pièces de monnaie M qu'il s'agit de trier suivent ce parcours. Cet appareil de tri des pièces fausses et de bon aloi est composé des éléments suivants : un dispositif permettant de mettre en place une série de domaines ne se recouvrant pas mutuellement, un pour chacun des contenus d'identification des dispositifs d'identification et correspondant à l'importance de ses valeurs ; un dispositif de tri permettant de déterminer si un résultat de l'un des dispositifs d'identification appartient à l'un des domaines sélectionnés et devant correspondre; un dispositif permettant de mettre en place un domaine de fonction fermé suivant un système de coordonnées en plusieurs dimensions représentées par des axes sur lesquels sont rapportés les facteurs d'identification, afin de réaliser un tri en tenant compte de chacun des facteurs d'identification de la série de types à identifier; et un dispositif de tri pour déterminer si les résultats des dispositifs d'identification appartiennent ou non aux domaines de fonction fermés. Les pièces fausses et de bon aloi sont triées d'après le résultat obtienu en passant par les dispositifs de tri.
