ABSTRACT COKE OVEN DOOR ASSEMBLY A coke oven door assembly has a guide mecha- nism for positioning the door before latching. A sin- gle pair of hangers is provided on the door frame ad- jacent to opposite vertical sides of the door opening. At least one axially rotatable member is mounted on the door for engaging the hangers and providing move- ment of the door therealong in a horizontal direction towards the oven. The axially rotatable member is located in a position on the door so that the door will be suspended in a completely vertical attitude on the hangers and may then be rolled into contact with the frame at repeatable, accurate positions to obtain better sealing.
