ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel method for the manufacture of a flexible molded article is described, said method comprising the steps of: (a) forming a sheet material of a partially cured carbodoxyl-terminated polybutadiene having dispersed therein asbestos fibres and floats, (b) shredding said sheet material, (c) cold molding said shredded material under pressure at room temperature to inhibit curing thereof, to form said molded article. The molded articles exhibits good thermal insulant, ?blative and flexible at low temperature properties and is particularly useful in the formation of head-end insulators for use in rocket motors.
