IMPROVED COLD NEUTRON RADIOGRAPHIC APPARATUS AND METHOD An improved cold neutron radiographic apparatus and method are disclosed wherein neutron temperature is matched to the specific material to be examined. This can be done, in one embodiment, by placing a radioactive source of neutrons, such as californium 252, in a modera- tor such as solid methane and using a cryogenic refrigera- tion system to cool the moderator to any pre-selected cryogenic temperature.
