ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A collapsible cage has a base and a plurality of side panels adapted to be supported on the base in both an upright and collapsed position. A locking mechanism is adapted to allow the panels to be locked into and unlocked from their upright position whenforming the cage. There is also a mechanism adapted to allow the panels to be collapsed and assume a substantially horizontally stacked position over the base. Preferably the collapsible cage includes a top panel adapted to be supported on the side panels when in an upright position. Thereby the top panel is lockable by locking mechanism and collapsible by collapsing mechanism so that the side panels and top panel can assume a substantially horizontally stacked position over the base.
