Conventional clothes hangers are not easily inserted into narrow necked garments such as tee shirts, pullovers or turtleneck sweaters. The invention described herein is a collapsible hanger having opposed interlocking arms pivoted on a horizontal axis so that the arms can be unlocked, slide over one another and folded together with the fingers of one hand and easily inserted into the neck of such garments. The arms can then be extended with one hand to their original opposed and interlocked position in the shoulder section of the clothing in order to properly hang the garment. The interlocking feature of the arms supports the weight of the hanging garment and prevents the unwanted collapse of the hanger.
