The collapsible curbside garbage hat has a top ring, a bottom ring and a sleeve made of netting material. The sleeve joins the top and bottom rings and extends over and across the top ring. The top and bottom rings are made with a malleable steel and are enclosed in folds made in the netting material of the sleeve or inside hems made of vinyl-based fabric material sewn to the netting material of the sleeve. In use, the garbage hat is placed over one or more garbage bags to enclose the bags completely, to keep the birds and animals away from the bags. One or more bells are attached to the netting sleeve. The bells are advantageous for scaring or frustrating and discouraging persistent birds and animals trying to penetrate the garbage hat.
