A collapsible electronic plug-in module card shelf assembly for reducing shipping and handling costs. The shelf assembly generally includes top and bottom shelf panels that are joined in parallel relationship. The shelf assembly is movable from a shipping or folded position in which the top and bottom shelf panels are in close proximity to minimize void space to an upright or operable position wherein the top and bottom panels are spaced to receive plug-in modules or cards therebetween. A printed circuit board may be assembled transversely between the shelf panels when in the upright position to provide for connection of plug-in modules.
