A collapsible flotation device has an uncollapsed configuration and a collapsed configuration. The device includes a spring (18) that is formed to coil in upon itself by folding to achieve the collapsed configuration of the device and which is biased towards the uncoiled configuration. The spring is located along the perimeter of the device in a pocket formed along the perimeter of a panel (11) of flexible material or on the external perimeter of the device. Also located within the pocket are one or more inflation chambers (20) that are inflated to provide buoyancy. Additional or alternate pockets that include inflatable chambers may be located in the central portion of the flexible panel.
La présente invention concerne un engin flottant repliable capable d'une configuration déployée et d'une configuration repliée. L'engin est pourvu d'un ressort (18) dont la forme est conçue pour qu'au pliage il s'enroule sur lui-même de façon à arriver à la configuration repliée de l'engin, lequel ressort est forcé en configuration déroulée. Ce ressort est situé sur le périmètre de l'engin dans un boudin réalisé sur le pourtour d'un panneau (11) de matériau souple ou sur le pourtour extérieur de l'engin. Le boudin renferme également au moins une chambre gonflable (20) dont le gonflage donne de la flottaison. D'autres boudins garnis de chambres gonflables peuvent être situés dans la partie centrale du panneau souple.
