A collapsible furniture construction, particularly for a foldaway bed, including a holder with two substantially rectangular mutually spaced parallel side flanges with two lower corners at the front and back, upper corners at the front and back and a substantially rectangular pivotable frame with a rear end portion inserted between said flanges and rotatable thereon between a substantially vertical stowed position and a substantially horizontal extended or forwardly open position, including at least one cross-member (4) substantially perpendicular to said flanges (2) and attached thereto for engaging a wall or the floor, which cross-member comprises wall or floor attachment means; a transverse pivot shaft (5) substantially perpendicular to said flanges and mounted on said frame (3) with the shaft ends pivotably connected to said flanges in an area adjacent to the upper front corners thereof; and a twist-preventing reinforcing crossbar (6) substantially perpendicular to said flanges, rigidly connected thereto and positioned in the area below said pivot shaft (5).
Structure de meuble pliable, en particulier lit escamotable, comprenant un support comportant deux flasques latéraux parallèles et espaces, de forme sensiblement rectangulaire et présentant deux coins inférieurs avant et arrière et des coins supérieurs avant et arrière et un châssis pivotant, de forme sensiblement rectangulaire, qui présente une partie d~extrémité arrière engagée entre lesdits flasques et qui est monte a rotation sur ces derniers entre une position repliée sensiblement verticale et une position allongée ou ouverte vers l'avant sensiblement horizontale, comprenant au moins une traverse (4) qui est sensiblement perpendiculaire auxdits flasques (2) et fixée sur ces derniers et qui est destine à être en contact avec le sol ou avec un mur et comporte des moyens de fixation au sol on au mur ; un axe transversal de pivotement (5) qui s~étend sensiblement perpendiculaire auxdits flasques et monte sur ledit châssis (3) et dont les extrémités sont montées pivotante sur lesdits flasques dans une zone proche de leurs coins supérieurs avant ; et une barre transversale (6) de renfort anti-torsion, sensiblement perpendiculaire auxdits flasques, solidaire de ces derniers et disposée dans une zone située en dessous dudit axe de pivotement (5).
