The collapsible suspended access platform is used for bearing a worker or equipments in substantially vertical limited access space, such as a vertical tank. The suspended access platform comprises an elongated central member and at least two plates movable relative to the central member between a folded position where the plates are substantially parallel thereto, and an unfolded position where the plates are substantially perpendicular thereto. The plates are pivotally connected to a sliding element operatively mounted on the central member and longitudinally movable thereon between an upper position and a lower position, and to at least two support members. The support members are also pivotally connected to a location along the central member. The collapsible suspended access platform could be easily passed through a small manhole when folded and then be unfolded very easily and rapidly inside a vertical tank for its use, thereby making it very advantageous over the prior art.
