The present invention provides a collapsible wall mounted seat comprising a linkage mount for fixing to a wall, a seat for supporting a person, and a linkage connecting the seat to the linkage mount. The linkage includes a first end and a second end and is connected at the first end to the linkage mount and at the second end to the seat. The linkage is movable between a folded position with the seat lying adjacent and substantially parallel to the wall, and an extended position with the seat extending outwards from and substantially perpendicular to the wall. The collapsible wall mounted seat includes a releasable lock for locking the linkage in the extended position.
