Changes in work situations are indicated by various focusing events such as changing current work contexts, work locations, work objects, and work roles. In operation, a Collection Adaptive Focus GUI receives work situation change events and adaptively responds by updating various GUI functional elements to correspond to the new work situation. Collection Adaptive Focus GUIs thus provide users with GUI interfaces that are precisely adapted to the specific characteristics of each new user work situation, thereby increasing the productivity of human workers in ways that were not previously possible.
