A color cathode-ray tube (10) has an evacuated envelope (11) with an electron gun (26) therein for generating at least one electron beam (28). The envelope further includes a faceplate panel (12) having a luminescent screen (22) with phosphor lines on an interior surface thereof. A uniaxial tension focus mask (25), having a plurality of spaced apart first metal strands (40), is located adjacent to an effective picture ama of the screen. The spacing between the first metal strands defines a plurality of slots (42) substantially parallel to the phosphor lines of the screen. Each of the first metal strands, across the effective picture area of the screen, has a substantially continuous first insulator layer (64) on a screen-facing side thereof. A second insulator layer (66) overlies the first insulator layer. A plurality of second metal strands (60) are oriented substantially perpendicular to the first metal strands and are bonded thereto by the second insulator layer.
Tube cathodique couleur (10) comportant une enveloppe à vide (11) renfermant un canon à électrons (26) qui génère au moins un faisceau d'électrons (28). L'enveloppe comprend également un panneau de façade (12) doté d'un écran luminescent (22) présentant des lignes fluorescentes sur une surface interne. Un masque de focalisation (25) à tension uniaxiale, possédant une pluralité de premiers torons métalliques espacés (40), est placé à proximité d'une zone d'image active de l'écran. L'espace se trouvant entre les premiers torons métalliques forme une pluralité de fentes (42) sensiblement parallèles aux lignes fluorescentes de l'écran. Chacun des premiers torons métalliques, passant dans la zone d'image active de l'écran, comporte, sur un de ses côtés tournés vers l'écran, une première couche isolante sensiblement continue (64). Une seconde couche isolante (66) recouvre la première. Une pluralité de seconds torons métalliques (60) sont orientés sensiblement perpendiculairement aux premiers et sont fixés à ceux-ci par la seconde couche isolante.
