A color display device and a color display method by which data on three colors, i.e. red, green and blue, is displayed in monochrome synchronously with successive ONs/OFFs of light sources of the respective three colors. A preferable working example is such that the light sources of red, green and blue are turned on/off in order of red, green, and blue and the ONs/OFFs of the red, green, blue and green light sources are defined as one cycle and the red, green and blue light sources are turned on/off by repeating the cycle.

L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé d'affichage couleur permettant l'affichage monochrome de données en trois couleurs, à savoir rouge, vert et bleu, en synchronisme avec les mises sous/hors tension successives des sources lumineuses de chacune des trois couleurs. Selon un exemple de fonctionnement préféré, les sources lumineuses du rouge, du vert et du bleu sont mises sous/hors tension dans l'ordre rouge, vert, bleu et les mises sous/hors tension des sources lumineuses rouge, verte, bleue sont définies comme un seul cycle, ce qui permet la mise sous/hors tension desdites sources lumineuses rouge, verte, bleue par répétition du cycle.
