JA9-84-029 COLOR DISPLAY SYSTEM ABSTRACT The disclosure describes a graphic driving assembly similar to that of the prior art but including a pattern memory for storing possible character patterns, and a pointer memory having a plurality of storage locations corresponding to character display locations on a screen. Each of the storage locations stores address information of the pattern memory in which the character patterns to be displayed is placed. A color information memory having a plurality of storage locations in the same number as those of the pointer memory, each storage location storing color information of the character pattern to be displayed, whereby, in simultaneously displaying colour graphic patterns and color character patterns on the screen, the character pattern read from pattern memory, according to the content of pointer memory, is written into a specified all point addressable buffer specified by the content of the color information buffer.
