The present invention provides a method and system for determining and providing color metadata for a downlink data channel. In accordance with the present invention color metadata is determined such that gamut mapping is defined by a transmitted source gamut which enables adapted mapping that preserves saturation and contrast levels of the source for a downlink data channel. The metadata is then provided to a downlink data channel for color management.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système qui permettent de déterminer et de fournir des métadonnées de couleur à un canal de données de liaison descendante. Selon l'invention, on détermine des métadonnées de couleur de manière qu'un mappage de gamme des couleurs est défini par une gamme de source transmise qui permet un mappage des couleurs adapté préservant les niveaux de saturation et de contraste de la source pour un canal de données de liaison descendante. Les métadonnées sont alors transmises à un canal de données de liaison descendante pour la gestion de la couleur.
