A color picture tube (10) has a tension mask (24) attached to a support frame (50), wherein the mask is made from a material having a significantly lower coefficient of thermal expansion than the coefficient of thermal expansion of the material of the frame. The frame tensions the mask to have a fundamental resonant frequency of 90 Hz ~ 20 Hz.

L'invention concerne un tube à image couleur (10) doté d'un masque à tension (24) fixé sur un cadre de support (50), ledit masque étant constitué d'un matériau dont le coefficient d'expansion thermique est nettement inférieur à celui du matériau du cadre. Ce masque applique une contrainte sur le masque pour avoir une fréquence de résonance principale de 90 Hz ± 20 Hz.
