COLOR RESPONSIVE IMAGING DEVICE EMPLOYING WAVELENGTH DEPENDENT SEMICONDUCTOR OPTICAL ABSORPTION Abstract of the Disclosure A charge coupled device is provided with channels which are buried at depths, beneath the device gate elec- trodes, corresponding to the absorption coefficients of respective colors. By so burying the channels, the device becomes a color imaging sensor having optimized resolution; and the device does not require special timing networks to correct for phase differences between color signals which result from a common point within an image. - 1 -
