Described herein is a substrate comprising at least one colorimetric component attached to a peptide, as well as methods for detecting a modification of said substrate. Also described are methods of detecting the presence or absence of a protein, for example, a protein produced by a microorganism, by contacting a substrate with a sample. If the sample contains the protein of interest, the substrate is modified and a visible color change results, indicating the presence or absence of the protein in the sample. The present invention also features biosensors and kits for detecting the presence or absence of microorganisms and/or proteins in a sample.
L'invention concerne un substrat contenant au moins un composé colorimétrique lié à un peptide, ainsi que des méthodes de détection d'une modification dudit substrat. Ladite invention a aussi trait à des méthodes de détection de la présence ou de l'absence d'une protéine, par exemple, d'une protéine produite par un micro-organisme, lesdites méthodes reposant sur la mise en contact d'un substrat avec un échantillon. Si l'échantillon renferme la protéine d'intérêt, le substrat est modifié et un changement de couleur visible s'effectue, ce qui indique la présence ou l'absence de la protéine dans l'échantillon. Cette invention a également pour objet des biodétecteurs et des kits destinés à la détection de la présence ou de l'absence de micro-organismes et/ou de protéines dans un échantillon.
