PHN 9468 13 7.3.80 ABSTRACT: Colour display tube. A colour display tube comprising in an eva- cuated envelope an electron gun system to generate three electron beams directed on a display window. For each electron beam the electron gun system is provided with a cathode which is secured in a cup- shaped control grid having an aperture by means of an electrically insulating material. The control grids are secured in a cup-shaped anode by means of a plate of electrically insulating material. The elec- tron gun system may be constructed with a focusing electrode which is common for the three electron beams and a common accelerating electrode. A sleeve- shaped electrode may be secured to the anode in which the focusing electrode is secured by means of a ring of electrically insulating material.
