ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved process for the continuous colouration of aromatic polyester/cellulose unions which comprises continuously applying to the said unions a reactive dyestuff and a disperse dyestuff containing at least two carboxylic acid ester groups, fixing the dyestuffs on the union, and thereafter subjecting the coloured union to a treatment in an aqueous alkaline bath at a pH above 8.0 and at a temperature between 50° and 85°C, whereby the unions are padded or printed in a wide variety of shades possessing excellent fastness properties and there is little or no staining of any unprinted areas of the unions.
