ABSTRACT A multi-colour display consists of an array of display elements each of which has the same number of faces. Each face is differently coloured so that each element is capable of presenting a contrast to the other elements whereby a selected pattern may be formed to provide an information display. Each display element has a body and a base. A magnetic coil array on the base is selectively energised to provide a pre-determined pole pattern to which a magnetic follower on the body responds to place a selected face into view. A control system is used to rotate the selected elements in the array by appropriately energising selected coils.
