There is described a coloured, transparent polymeric label which is capable of being fixed to a pre-selected coloured, transparent region of an article (optionally by a wet glue process) to achieve a non-label look on the article, characterised in that: the colour parameters measured in CIE colour space of each of the label, labelled article and un-labelled article together satisfy conditions (a) and/or (b) (a) (i) the modulus of .DELTA.C is less than about 5, more preferably less than about 4, most preferably about 3.5, for example about zero, where: .DELTA.C = CL+A-CA Equation 1 where CL+A = (aL+A2 + bL+A2)~ and CA= (aA2 + bA2)~ ; and (ii) the modulus of .DELTA.L is less than about 7, preferably less than about 4, most preferably about 3, for example about zero, where: .DELTA.L = LL+A - LA Equation 2; and (iii) the modulus of .DELTA.E is less than about 10, more preferablyless than about 6, most preferably about 4, for example about zero, where: .DELTA.E = (.DELTA.a2 + .DELTA.b2 + .DELTA.L2)~ Equation 3; where .DELTA.a = aL+A - aL and .DELTA.b = bL+A- bL;; and (iv) the modulus of .DELTA.H is less than about 7, more preferably less than about 5.5, most preferably less than about 2.5, for example about zero, where: .DELTA.H = (.DELTA.E 2 + .DELTA.L2 + .DELTA.C2)~ Equation 4 and/or (b) the modulus of transmitted colour ratio (Rtrans) is greater than 0.9 preferably is substantially about 1.0, where Rtrans = 2 (EL+A) / (EL + EA) Equation 5 This provides a method for colour matching a label to a specific article such as a bottle to be labelled to provide a no~label appearance on the article.
L'invention concerne une étiquette polymère transparente, colorée, apte à être fixée sur une zone transparente colorée, présélectionnée d'un article (éventuellement par encollage) en vue d'obtenir un aspect de non application d'une étiquette sur ledit article, étiquette caractérisée en ce que les paramètres de couleur, mesurés dans une plage de couleur CIE de chacune des étiquettes, de chacun des articles étiquetés et non étiquetés satisfont conjointement aux conditions (a) et/ou (b) ci-après : (a) (i) le module de .DELTA.C est inférieur à environ 5, de préférence inférieur à environ 4, plus avantageusement, environ 3,5, par exemple, au voisinage de zéro, où: ?C = C<SB>L+A</SB>-C<SB>A</SB> équation 1 dans laquelle C<SB>L+A</SB> = (a<SB>L</SB>+<SB>A</SB>?2¿ + b<SB>L</SB>+<SB>A</SB>?2¿)??¿ et C<SB>A</SB>= (a<SB>A</SB>?2¿ + b<SB>A</SB>?2¿)??¿; et (ii) le module de ?L est inférieur à environ 7, de préférence inférieur à environ 4, plus avantageusement, environ 3, par exemple, au voisinage de zéro, où: ?L = L<SB>L+A</SB> - L<SB>A</SB> équation 2; et (iii) le module de ?E est inférieur à environ 10, de préférence, inférieur à environ 6, plus avantageusement à environ 4, par exemple, au voisinage de zéro, où ?E = (?a?2¿ + ?b?2¿ + ?L?2¿)??¿ équation 3; dans laquelle ?a = a<SB>L+A</SB> - a<SB>L</SB> et ?b = b<SB>L+A</SB>- b<SB>L;</SB>; et (iv) le module de ?H est inférieur à environ 7, de préférence, inférieur à environ 5, 5, plus avantageusement, à environ 2,5, par exemple, au voisinage de zéro, où ?H = (?E ?2¿ + ?L?2¿ + ?C?2¿)??¿ équation 4 et/ou (b) le module du rapport de couleur transmise (R¿trans?) est supérieur à 0,9, ou est, de préférence, sensiblement égal à environ 1,0, où R¿trans? = 2 (E<SB>L+A</SB>) / (E<SB>L</SB> + E<SB>A</SB>) équation 5. L'invention fournit ainsi un procédé permettant d'avoir une concordance de couleur entre une étiquette et un article spécifique, tel qu'une bouteille é étiqueter, ce qui donne l'impression qu'aucune étiquette n'a été appliquée sur ledit article.
