The present invention provides a method and apparatus (9) comprising a platform for a column-and-row-addressable high-density biochip array. The apparatus (9) can be used as a high-density biochip array for electronic or electrochemical detection of molecular interactions between probe molecules bound to defined regions of the array and target molecules exposed to the array.
