ABSTRACT A column assembly is provided for use in the construction of building structures. The assembly comprises, in combination , a column with a first end and a second end, a threaded rod extending from the second end, a second column also with a first end and a second end where a threaded rod extends from the first end of the second column. The threaded rods extend in axial alignment and define a space between the columns and a threaded sleeve connects the two rods.
