The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions for treating or preventing emesis in mammals, including humans, using an NK-1 antagonist in combination with one or more other active agents selected from (a) a glucocorticoid or corticosteroid, (b) a benzodiazepine, (c) metaclopramide and (d) an intracellular molecular scavenger. The combination has a synergistic antiemetic effect.
