A comb insert is disclosed for a cosmetic brush that has a bristle portion with a twisted wire core bent into a loop. The comb insert has a base with teeth extending from at least one surface. The base of the comb insert is provided with a groove that engages the core of the brush forming the loop in interference fit to secure the comb insert in the loop.
