The jacket has a pouch at each side of the body portion. A sail is furled within each pouch for storage and may be unfurled for use. The sails are of length approximately equal to the length of a normal arm such that, in use, the sail extends from the pouch and terminates at an end adjacent to the wearer's hand when his arm is generally straight and horizontal. A handle is attached to each distal end to facilitate removal of the sail from the pouch. The sails may alternatively be combined into one continuous piece which is stitched to the rear of the jacket along spaced horizontal lines. When the sail is not in use its ends may be furled and stored in the space between the central portion of the sail and the rear wall of the jacket.
