A portable jump starter/charger combination includes a housing and a jump starter battery enclosed within the housing for providing a first DC output. A battery charger is also enclosed within the housing and provides a second DC output. A function selector switch has a first input coupled to the first DC output of the jump starter battery, a second input coupled to the second DC output of the charger and an output coupled to battery cables. The function selector switch is operative to selectively connect one of the first and second inputs to the output of the function selector for either jump starting a vehicle with a dead battery or charging the dead battery through the pair of battery cables.

L'invention concerne une combinaison portable démarrage forcé/chargeur qui comporte un boîtier et une batterie de démarrage forcé logée dans ledit boîtier et destinée à fournir une première sortie CC. Ledit boîtier contient également un chargeur de batterie qui fournit une seconde sortie CC. Un commutateur de sélecteur de fonction est doté d'une première entrée couplée à la première sortie CC de la batterie de démarrage forcé, d'une seconde entrée couplée à la seconde sortie CC du chargeur et d'une sortie couplée aux câbles de batterie. Le commutateur de sélecteur de fonction permet de connecter sélectivement l'une des première et seconde entrées à la sortie dudit sélecteur pour forcer le démarrage d'un véhicule dont la batterie est déchargée ou pour charger ladite batterie déchargée par le biais de la paire de câbles de batterie.
