ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A trap for marine life which includes the combination of an enlarged trap in the shape of a truncated pyramid having an entrance opening in the top thereof and n trap structure mounted on the top wall which includes n peripheral open area to enable access to the opening in the top wall of the trap with the trap structure including A peripheral net which can he moved to closed position when lifting the trap to retain the marine life therein. The openable and closable peripheral netting on the trap structure mounted on the top wall of the pyramidal trap in- cludes a centrally located elastic member to retain the netting in a folded condition to define an opening generally coincident with the opening in the top wall of the pyramidal trap. The top edge of the side netting on the trap structure is vertically mov- able between a lowermost position in which the periphery of the trap structure is open to an elevated position in which the periphery of the trap structure is closed by the side netting. -1-
