A combined antenna system used for both vehicles and structures, whereby a satellite antenna is placed concentrically around a conventional mast antenna that can be used for both conventional FM radio and also terrestrial retransmission of the satellite broadcast signals. The combined antenna system, in a vehicle implementation, is configured to use only the one hole created in the vehicle manufacturing process, thereby preventing the necessity of drilling a second hole for the satellite antenna, which alleviates deterioration of the vehicle's body. Additionally, because the combined antenna system can be advantageously placed, a shorter RF cable connecting it to a receiver box can be implemented than otherwise would be the case for a satellite antenna located on a window or roof of a vehicle. In an alternative embodiment, the satellite antenna can be mounted on either a fixed or retractable terrestrial antenna, thereby raising the satellite antenna to a higher elevation with respect to any obstacles on the vehicle or structure.
L'invention concerne un système d'antenne combinée utilisé à la fois pour des véhicules et des structures, une antenne satellite étant placée de façon concentrique autour d'une antenne pylône classique pouvant être utilisée à la fois pour une radio FM classique et pour une retransmission terrestre des signaux de radiodiffusion satellite. Mis en oeuvre dans un véhicule, le système d'antenne combinée est conçu de manière à utiliser uniquement le trou créé lors du procédé de fabrication du véhicule, supprimant ainsi la nécessité de percer un second trou pour l'antenne satellite, ce qui réduit la détérioration de la carrosserie du véhicule. En outre, étant donné que le système d'antenne combinée peut être placé de manière avantageuse, un câble RF plus court connectant l'antenne à un boîtier récepteur peut être implémenté, tel n'est pas le cas pour une antenne satellite située sur une fenêtre ou le toit d'un véhicule. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'antenne satellite peut être montée soit sur une antenne terrestre fixe soit sur une antenne terrestre escamotable, ce qui permet de placer l'antenne satellite plus haut par rapport à des obstacles sur le véhicule ou la structure.
