Vehicles for transporting dangerous chemicals such as acids are not usually equipped with emergency washing equipment. This deficiency is remedied by a simple combination shower stall and sleeping compartment including an inverted u-shaped housing, the ends of which define shower stalls, and the top of which defines a sleeping compartment. The rear wall of each shower stall is defined by a fixed lower panel and a pivotal upper panel, which can be rotated between the vertical position in which it defines the upper end of the rear wall of the shower stall, and a horizontal position in which it defines one end of the base of a bunk in the sleeping compartment. A light, a shower head and an eye wash unit are provided in each shower stall. Access to the shower stalls is gained via doors in the end of the housing.

Cette lacune peut être comblée par un compartiment-couchette/douche combiné en forme U inversé qui comporte à chaque bout une cabine de douche et dont la partie haute sert de compartiment-couchette. La paroi arrière de chaque cabine de couche se compose d'un panneau inférieur fixe et d'un panneau supérieur pivotant que l'on peut déplacer de sa position verticale où il constitue une partie de la paroi arrière de la cabine de douche vers une position horizontale où il devient une partie de la base d'une couchette. Une lumière, une pomme de douche et un poste de rinçage oculaire sont prévus dans chaque cabine de douche. On accède aux cabines de douche par des portières ménagées dans les extrémités latérales du compartiment-couchette.
