?ITLE COMBINATION TAILGATE AND LOADING RAMP ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A panel mounted at the rear of a truck having a flatbed which is capable of functioning as either a tailgate or a loading ramp. In the tailgate configuration, a longi- tudinal edge of the panel is pivotally secured across the rear edge of the truck bed. In its upright position, the panel forms an end wall enclosing the bed, and in its down position, it forms a flush, horizontal extension of the bed. The panel is placed in its loading ramp configuration by rotating one corner along a vertical axis until a side edge contacts the rear edge of the truck bed. The side edge is then pivotally secured adjacent the rear edge of the bed, with the top surface of the panel flush with the top surface of the bed.
