The invention relates to a method for preventing or treating Alzheimer's disease (AE). According to said method, a means for inducing a sequestration of amyloid ~ (A~) into a plasma is administered to a person, and the person is treated by means of an apheresis device comprising a fixed carrier that can come into contact with the blood or plasma flow and comprises a receptor binding an amyloid-~-precurser-protein (APP), the APP being removed from the blood of the person by means of the apheresis device. The invention also relates to a set for carrying out said method.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour la prévention ou le traitement de la maladie d'Alzheimer (AE), procédé caractérisé en ce qu'un agent induisant une séquestration d'amyloïde .beta. (A.beta.) dans un plasma est administré à une personne, et en ce qu'on traite la personne à l'aide d'un dispositif d'aphérèse comprenant un support fixe capable de venir en contact avec le sang ou le plasma, ledit support présentant un récepteur réalisant la liaison amyloïde .beta.-précurseur-protéine (APP), et en ce que l'APP est retiré du sang de la personne au moyen du dispositif d'aphérèse. L'invention concerne en outre un kit pour la mise en oeuvre de ce procédé.
