The present invention concerns combination of an amount of a BRS-3 agonist with an amount of a dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV) inhibitor such that the combination provides an effect in lowering a blood glucose level or in increasing a blood GLP-1 level in a subject over that provided by the amount of the BRS-3 agonist alone and by the amount of the DPP-IV inhibitor alone and the use of such a combination for treating or preventing obesity and diabetes and conditions related thereto and conditions ameliorated by increasing a blood GLP-1 level. The present invention also relates to the use of a G protein-coupled receptor to screen for GLP-1 secretagogues.
La présente invention concerne un mélange d'une quantité d'un agoniste BRS-3 avec une quantité d'un inhibiteur de la dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV), de telle manière que ledit mélange engendre un effet de diminution du niveau de glucose sanguin ou d'augmentation d'un niveau GLP-1 sanguin chez un sujet par rapport à l'effet engendré par la quantité de l'agoniste BRS-3 utilisé seul et la quantité de l'inhibiteur DPP-IV utilisé seul. Cette invention a aussi pour objet l'utilisation d'un tel mélange dans le traitement ou la prévention, d'une part, de l'obésité, de diabètes et de troubles associés et, d'autre part, de troubles améliorés par l'augmentation d'un niveau GLP-1 sanguin, ainsi que l'utilisation d'un récepteur couplé à la protéine G de manière à cribler des sécrétagogues GLP-1.
