The invention relates to methods for treating or preventing acute and/or chronic arthritis. The method comprises administering to patients in need thereof therapeutically effective amounts of a TNF binding protein and methotrexate (N-[4-[[2,4-diamino-6-pteridinyl)methylamino]benzoyl]-L-glutamic acid). In a preferred embodiment, the TNF binding protein is sTNFR-I or sTNFR- II. The invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing a TNF binding protein and methotrexate useful in such methods.

L'invention porte sur des procédés de traitement ou de prévention de l'arthrite aiguë et/ou chronique. Ce procédé consiste à administrer à des patients des quantités thérapeutiquement efficaces d'une protéine de liaison du TNF et d'un méthotrexate (N-[4-[[2,4-diamino-6-ptéridinyl)méthylamino]benzoyl]-L-acide glutamique). Selon une réalisation préférée, la protéine de liaison du TNF est le sTNFR-I ou le sTNFR-II (récepteur du TNF soluble de type I ou de type II). L'invention porte également sur des compositions pharmaceutiques contenant une protéine de liaison du TNF et un méthotrexate utilisés dans ces procédés.
