The invention relates to a tool for assisting in the removal of removable prosthodontic appliances such as false teeth, full or partial plates, bridges, etc. The prosthodontic appliance removal aid is incorporated in and at the end of a conventional toothbrush handle and comprises in general a thin flattened hook portion extending arcuately from the end of the toothbrush. The hook portion is sufficiently thin and sufficiently strong so as to enable the user to engage an edge of the appliance or to insert the hook between a portion of the appliance and an adjacent surface to permit removal of the appliance through appropriate leverage action by breaking the vacuum seal or by overcoming the interference fit. The flattened hook portion is provided by forming a transverse groove of predetermined depth in the handle at a predetermined distance from its end.
