Abstract of the Disclosure A fungicidal composition containing a compound of general formula I, Image (I) wherein X represents an oxygen atom or a valency bond as active ingredient. This invention also relates to the novel compounds of formula I and a process for their manufacture by reacting a compound of general formula II Image (II) with a dehydrating agent. Compounds of general formula I have been found to show significant fungicidal activity, and diseases caused by Phytophthora infestans de Bary are especially susceptible to control by then. They can be applied in a variety of formulations including solutions, emulsions, powder- sprays, dusts, pastes and granules along with the appropriate subsidiary materials.
